Westex - here's you guitar's cousin. Lollar firebird pups in the bridge and middle, Lollar mini-hum in the neck. Awesome axe!

I put on solid saddles (I have a set I keep around just for swapping out) and swapped out the pickups, which turned out to be not stock. Turns out they were what used to be in PRS Swamp Ash Specials; McCarty Bass and Treble and a Vintage Rails in the middle. The neck pickup was particularly awesome sounding, but I had a Fralin Unbucker 8K coming just for this guitar. I don't like Vintage Rails, so I threw an Area 58 in the middle. The bridge pickup is a Suhr DSH+ (the McCarty treble was a bit weak). It sound great when I got it, but now it sounds even better. Cool.

Now that is a winner.
BTW, I had two of my Mels set up to solderlessly swap out pickguards with these awesome little Acme miniplugs.
Speaking of, since I've sold those two Mels and now only have one, I have three pickguards available: one mint HH, one mint SSS, and one black HSH, in case anyone needs some.

Sweet. There were several made with minihums in them; I know I've seen one with Anderson minihums in it.

Well, I pulled the trigger and picked up a Custom Artist T. I wanted something that could do a wide range of tones from really warm, clear jazz on the neck pickup to typical t bridge tones. My other guitars are a Rocketfire S-type and an UNK standard w/Rio Grande Texas/BBQ pickups.

I still don't know if a P-90 would have been better for the neck p/u but I'm sure I'll have no complaints once it arrives.

Alder body w/AAAAA Burled Maple top
Aged Honeyburst finish
Maple neck and fingerboard
60's C profile
Fretboard radius 12"
Nut width 1.625
Medium SS frets
Ashtray 3 saddle bridge
PAFN neck pickup w/ split switch (push/pull knob)
Vintage T bridge pickup
Abalone
Abalone logo

It should be here on monday - it's going to be a long weekend.

LOVE Melancon Guitars... One of the few boutique builders I could actually see getting a guitar from. The prices are just ridiculous for how good the guitars are.

Niiiice guitars gentleman.

I'm pretty excited myself. I have P90 Pro Artist T Chambered SwampAsh Maple/RW that I've basically never played because the person I bought it from set the action so wacky. I finally after I think 3 years took it to have it properly setup. I'll get it back this week and hopefully will be getting essentially a new guitar. The saddles on the bridge were set as high as the screws would allow.

I played it one day last week at Andy's... I was on vacation in FL. I got back home and decided to get it. It arrives in a couple of days. I think I'll love it!
