Well I got my RP500
I got it Friday, but didn't have a chance to try it until yesterday (kids hockey tournament). So I played about 20 minutes through headphones trying to get a few sounds for my jam later in the day (after hockey). Didn't sound great, but I expected that through the headphones. So when I get to rehersal and plug into the PA it was horrendous. Just sounded like garbage. I tried to tweak, and I couldn't get rid of the harsh digital high end. So after a few songs, my singer/rhythm player says "try just pluging the monitor into the low setting (instead of the full range)". So I do that and it sounds better, but now its very muddy and unclear (but doesn't hurt our ears). After the jam I was unhooking my RP500 VERY DISAPPOINTED when I notice that I have the switch set to AMP instead of MIXER
So I took one of the PA monitors home, and I'll try and mess around with it this week and see if I can get some usable tones.

I have had a RP1000 for a week now and have not been able to get any great tones out of it with headphones yet. I can get some passable tones running with the 4CM on my RM50. If I put a MXR 10 band after the unit and then into a Powerblock and use the headphone jack on that I can get closer. I would imagine using the EQ on the RP would allow me to get better results but am not very good with using the RP's EQ by using the menus. I need to hook this thing up to a computer so that I can see the curves.

That switch should never, ever be in any other mode than mixer. Even when running through an amp it sounds better in mixer mode |
