Any Dave "Fuze" Fiuczynski Love here?

I just love his music... Really a original and musically relevant guitar hero!

YES!!!

Saw Kif several years ago. I routinely listen to the Torso stuff, too.

don't know about love, but i had Fuze for a session at the NGW Jazz Summit in 2000 and he is one ferociously talented player who takes a creative approach ... way out there (in a good way) ...

big fan since Lunar Crush way back in the day...

Really love both Kif discs and Hiromi work! Get the Hiromi DVD for live Fuze goodness and amazing interplay between that group... jawdropping grooves alongside amazing melodic doubling... freaking RTF style telepathy!

Jaff Babko has a great disc called Broject with Fuze on guitar (3 or 4 tracks worth if memory serves) and it also has Landau on a couple tracks

great teacher too.

about ten years ago, I was in a laundromat in Brooklyn, saw a flier on the wall with little tear off phone number tabs; Dave Fiuczynski - guitar lessons.
yeah!
took about 6 or 7 lessons - I still draw on what I learned from him and when I sit down to expand/work/study I'll still pull out the materials we used.
Really nice guy too. I remember him showing me one of his middle eastern inflected licks...I could kind of get it, while he was there showing me, but - man! - that's a whole 'nuther world.
In one lesson, he took a song I wrote - I thought it was a pretty simple, minor blues -Well, he showed me the harmonic minor mode and how it could work over a part of my own tune...wow - just the concept that you could open doors, like that, inside a tune - a tune I wrote and thought I knew! - there are always new spaces/modes/approaches...

Yeah, he's a beast. I found out about him during the Screaming Headless Torso's days. His stuff with Me'Shell N'Degeocello is great too. Oh, and Lunar Crush. I dig his playing.

It'd be great to take some lessons with him...

Funny, though, is that I first heard about him because o Lunar Crush, but I never got into that album. Years later I stumbled upon his SHT, and that was it - like a punch on the face! Then came KiF, and that's probably my favorite work of him...

Thumbs up

His latest album gets regular play on the internet radio station I listen to. I really like his stuff. Some of the most original playing I've heard in ages.
