TC Nova Repeater & dotted 8th notes

Repeater owners, if you're using it for the dotted 8th note sound is setting it up as simple as entering the tempo and selecting the 8th note setting?

How are you liking your Nova Repeater? I'm looking to get one soon and can't decide between the repeater or delay.

I don't have one, but I need one that does the dotted 8th thing and is easy to set up. But most delay, well in fact all delays I've tried I do not like.

Boss DD5 and Tech 21 DLA are also great options for a simple dotted eight setting. Both are great and don't mess with your dry signal. They're also 9v unlike the Nova delays.

difine "don't mess with your dry signal". Curious to understand your experience.

My Repeater works great. Very easy, and the "strum tap" method is much superior to the "foot tap" method. It follows a Retro-Sonic analog delay.

There's also the option of simply tapping in the dotted eight. (without the dotted 8th setting)

Just saying...

The dry signal on the Nova messes with your dry signal. There's some nopise in the background too BUT it depends on the amp you use. In some amps its completely inaudible. It also kills some highs but nothing extreme. For the purist, I can see that being an issue. In my case it was VERY noisy. Others have had opposite experiences.

I just recommend the other pedals because they're cheaper and do the dotted eight setting very well.

I found that on a 9v chain it became REALLY noisy, and the tap tempo light would make a "tick" every time it went. Using the 12v adapter cured it but that's another wall wart.

Great sounds though

There's much more headroom at 12 volts. To my ears, the Nova Repeater sounds clean and transparent. I don't hear any adverse effects to the dry signal, something that's been a deal breaker with other delays (for me).

Goodsell Super 17. Fairly bright amp. Think AC15 meets Fender Princeton sound.
