Not exactly a muscle car with a 318, but someday.....
1970 Dodge cChallenger. Currently inoperative. It needs some, ok alot of work. I was this close to pushing it down to the dealer to trade in with cash for clunkers on a new Prius, but didn't have the heart.

My dad used to have a 1970 Chevelle SS. It's the only car that he wishes that he had back.

This is what it looked like except the stripes.

He sold the car in the early eighties, and ten or 15 years after that, the guy offered it back to dad. Unfortunately, he couldn't afford it, so the guy sold it to someone else. Ten years after that, my dad gets this call from a guy in Memphis asking about the car.

Turns out the bought it from the guy that bought the car from who dad sold it to, performed a frame off restoration, and sold it.

The car has won best of show 4 out of 5 years in the Memphis car show (at that time), but was now painted black with white rally strips.

The guy said that when he gets ready to sell the car, he'll give dad first shot, but I'm not too hopeful at this point. I would do anything to buy that car back for dad.

They didn't have a 427 until 66 ...or even an official big block until 65.

Dood, the next time I see this car, I want to see that you've ripped those fender skirts off the back, jacked it up a bit and put Cragar SS rims all the way around!

ok, I agree originality is cool, but at least show a pic of a smokey posi track burn out.

That's one of the best Chevelles EVER ! Below is one I had @ 18 y/o. I eventually bought the fender well trim for it. I loved the black stripes and wish mine had em! I had to sell it because of getting too many tickets.

I'll post up some different ones.....

In the staging lane at the track..... Our local is 1/8th mile, which is nice for the vert. No bar required at the times I am running. In the 1/4, I'd need a bar.

Same track, different day.... Running my friend's '71 Trans Am. My car is running in the high 7's/mid 90s in the 1/8th.

.030 over 455, KRE 290cfm dports, Dougs headers, custom hydraulic roller, highly modded '66 Tripower, Tremec TKO600 5 speed, Moser 12 bolt 4:11 (going to a
3:42 soon)

Custom dash I made. Must be the pilot in me. Vintage Air AC.

New and old......

The day the body left for the body shop. It took 8.5 years to "restify" this car. I did all the mechanical work, and most of the body work that you can't see. I know my limits, so I had a local resto shop do the outside body work and paint.

OK, you guys started it...

I used to collect guitars, then I started collecting cars. Short of winning the lotto, I think I"m done collecting both...

1966 LeMans, she was sporting a 326...

Now she's sporting a very healthy 455!

I didn't do all the work myself as I'm not much of a wrench turner, I'm a musician but I was there every step of the way sandblasting, painting, etc. We took her all the way down to the frame and left the fenders on.

1967 Firebird 400 'vert, she's a royal PITA...

1968 GTO, I sold a 66 r/w neck Tele, CS 54 Historic LP and a dead mint 66 Vibrolux to help fund this one. I regret selling the amp...

When work is slow my business partner and I work on our cars...and we've had a lot of time to work on our cars in the past 18 months...these are my weekend drivers, thankfully the weather in So Cal is good year round.

Chevy sold a special "Racing Edition" engine package as early as '62 as an upgrade to the 409........I bought this car from a car clubber with the engine already in it .....I can't take credit for the mods.

Check it out here.....
