An old friend from High School - grave condition

I was very sad to learn that an old friend of mine from High School, Carl, is gravely ill. He has two brothers who are TGP members here--I don't want to say who because I haven't asked them about posting here. I actually knew his younger brother better, but Carl was always very nice and interesting to visit with. I last saw him in 1997 at the 20 year H.S. reunion. All I'll say is that he is in the hospital, his body is shutting down. He's only expected to live a matter of days. I'm very sad to have found this out.

Any thoughts, prayers, hopes... and consolation to his family is greatly appreciated.

-rocky

It's really a trip to read something like this. All 3 of his brothers are members here. Hi Rocky. I think I remember you. ~Mark

Just wanted to say thank you to Rocky for posting this. Carl wouldn't personally approve as he seemed to dislike all forms of social networking on the internet but, the sibs would probably be with me on this. It's nice that people are willing to put forth such hope and prayer for someone they don't even know.

I don't think I've seen Rocky since the 80s but I appreciate the fact that his connection with our family was that strong. I've had chills since I first read his post.

All 4 of us kids are probably about as different from each other as you could imagine. Music has always been something that we've all shared. We all play guitar to varying degrees and, I can't possibly imagine a better place to read of well wishings for Carl than on a board full of folks that all share the same passion for music.

Thank you all very much!

It's just such a lousy thing with no sense in asking "why" because there's no answer.

So sorry Rocky.

Best wishes and prayers sent ...

My best buddy from High School was named Carl ... we lost him in '05 at the much too young age of 41 after a case of strep throat went septic in his blood.

He was a father, lawyer, and respected Bass player in the Shreveport/Bossier City area.

Been there, done that .. and it sucks.
