i think u will need to plug the existing bridge stud holes, and redrill new ones for a tune-o-matic bridge. not an easy mod

*edit*

OR

you could try leaving the stud holes alone and using a floating archtop bridge...

Does that guitar have a center block or is it truly hollow? I've heard you can wreck a guitar with a Bigsby unless there's a center block, like on a 335.

i have heard on the BAM forum that the standard prs hollowbodies aren't braced internally with a bigsby in mind.

those you see with bigsbys are private stock or artist relations models, and are likely to have beefed up bracing or a center block.

but well.. you *could* always try...

I agree with what the others have said about it possibly being a bad idea.

The BEST thing you could do is call PRS and ask about your specific model and see what they think about adding a bigsby to it. They built it, after all.

They may tell you it can be done or they may say don't try it because your guitar was not built with a bigsby in mind, either way, it would only take a phone call.

But from what I have read, most guitars with bigsby's have a center block to support the weight and pressure of using a bigsby tremelo arm.

I don't think you can add a bigsby to just any hollowbody guitar, solid body guitars are different because they have the wood to support one.

Bad idea IMO.

If you absolutely have to have a bigsby, I would save and search out a PRS SCJ. Limited run but I've seen them for sale occasionally.

Are you wanting to do this because you think it looks cool, or are you actually going to use it enough to justify extensively modifying a guitar with nothing wrong with it?

Well, I put it that way because in my youth I did many foolish things to guitars that would be viewed as blasphemy today.

Excellent question.
I'm thinking it's to look cool because there are other trems you could probably install without modifying the guitar.

I'm not a fan of Bigsbys. I think they look as cool as having a bicycle kickstand mounted on your guitar, but, YMMV.

Tone Pros the bridge in place - the factory bridge - and buy a Bigsby B3. Done.

I have bigby's on multiple guitars and the use of them is what I am comfortable with.
i just think personally that its the most expressive tremelo that I have tried, and i've found that i'm favoring my guitar's with bigsby's more than the two PRS i own that I paid out the butt for. so just thinking of a way of playing my hollowbody more and i know one of the big reasons i don't play it is because i enjoy using bigsby's on my other guitars...

Don't ruin a nice guitar. The value of that guitar will hit the floor like a brick.Get a second guitar that comes equipped with one.
