Your fave band as a teen: Still your fave?

I got into Zeppelin in the early 70s even before I was a teen, and even though I've had phases where I major got into someone else and neglected Zep for a while I always come back to them and they are still hands down my fave band. Recently went on a bootleg bender and hearing them live from all of the different phases of their career has cemented my love for the band even more.

How many of you are still digging your first favorite band?

When I was a kid, I loved the Beatles. When I was a teen, I worshipped Rush. Now I tend towards more rootsy types of music. However, I still love both bands and paid a chunk of money to see Rush second row center the last time around.

Nope. My teen years were all about 80's rock. I still like that stuff from time-to-time but my horizons have definitely broadened over the years.

In my teens I went from Beatles, CCR (parents records) to Kiss, Alice Cooper to Zeppelin, Yes, ELP and then Zappa.

Don't really listen to Kiss anymore. I will listen to all the others from time to time. There is too much music I haven't heard yet out there for me to waste my time wallowing in nostalgia.

GNR more than any other band when I was a teen. I will always love them but don't listen much or care for anything they do independently... other than Izzy. If it weren't for GNR I don't know that I would have wanted to play guitar as intensely as I did as a teen.

I think you always hold those bands that you liked then with you forever - even if you don't listen to them all the time anymore. Those feelings were powerful at that age and the music is a passport back to that time!

As a teen I was really into Rush and Van Halen. I still dig the Roth era stuff but I'm certainly no blind faith EVH fanboy like I was as a kid. As for Rush the older I get the less I like Geddy's voice.

My favorite band as a teen was Yes in the 70's; I haven't heard a note of them since "Owner of a Cuisinart"

I loved ZZ Top before I was a teen. ZZ were the first record I bought with my own money in Gr 4. I'm still a huge fan and listen to them all the time.

Was also hugely into classic Van Halen (Roth era) as a kid, and am still a huge fan.

Umm...I believe the title of the song is "Owner of the Deadly Fart".
