How the mighty fall - what has happened to the Pats?

Man what has happened? I am not at all a fan, and I get some sick pleasure out of watching them lose , but what has changed that has caused them to lose 4 games already?

And Damn, Brees looked good last night. 5 TDs!

How awesome would a undefeated Colts Saints Super Bowl be? The only thing I am afraid of is the saints will beat my colts...

The Pats defense hasn't been able to stop strong offenses. Many of Brady's passes have been off the mark, and the offensive line has not held back the pass rush sufficiently. Moss is drawing double or triple coverage.

First off, I live in MA. The Pats can't cheat anymore and one guy had a stroke and Tom Bradley is at Sonsie drinking all the time with his dog that Liberace probably left him as it has a pink collar and belongs in Big Al's Animal Sanctuary.

I am biased because the guy is a jerk.

Just like Ice Cube used to be a gangsta rapper in NWA and now plays a cop on Law and Order when you lose your edge it's over.

Agree. Also -
Brady didn't look sharp last night, and he doesn't work well outside the pocket. The Saints have momentum going for them in spades. The team is on a roll, and Brees has hit his stride. The Pats had their time, but the dynasty years are over.

Yup. I'm happy with the 3 rings from this decade. Not too shabby.

Yeah they are terrible, they fell right into first place in the AFC east by only two games.

In the entire AFC there are three teams with better records.

But I'd wager they have zero chance at the SB this year. They are no longer a virtual lock to get to the big show.

A little perspective is always a good thing.

I didnt mean to imply they are terrible, I just meant without any major lineup changes or loses and with arguably one of the best QBs in the league (i may not like the pats, but I can admit that brady is one of the greats) I just thought they would do better.

Cant wait for play offs, that is when it all matters, win and loss record don't mean much when you have to win every game or you are out.

Ice Cube was in N.W.A. and has lost his edge too, doing movies like are we there yet?

Ice-T was/is a solo artist.

Huh? Their defense lost more starters than probably any other team.

I'm a Pats fan and have been watching them all year. I think there are a few issues:

1. The defense got too young too fast. Belichick was smart to get rid of the old guys. However, he went from old and slow to young fast and in-experienced too quickly. They are good and have talented players but they make a lot of mistakes and they are missing an explosive pass rusher or two. So they can get the job done against bad and average teams but good teams like the Colts and Saints will expose them.

2. The offense is still good to very good but their lack of depth means that they can be shut down more easily than in 2007. Jabar Gaffney and Donte Stallworth were very viable #3 and #4 options in 2007 and they don't have anybody like that now. So if you can slow down Welker and Moss and put pressure on Brady then you can limit the big play damage.

They're still a good team but clearly the Colts, Saints, and Vikings are better.

My bad.

I honestly dont follow them close enough to notice defense changes. But this would explain a lot, it seems like their Defense has been the weak point, at least in the Saints and the Colts games.
