Connecting amp to cab- what cable?
Instrument cable, or speaker cable, or does it matter??
Thanks. |

Speaker cable. Always.

Wow- been using an instrument cable- will it do damage, or just impact the sound quality?

+1 on speaker cable.....
The instrument cable has smaller, more resistant wire that probably is not rated for the speaker current. There are quite a variety of speaker cables out there that range from simple zip cord with phone plugs to small welding cables and cables made of Litz wire. The less exotic cables will work fine. Have a great day, Eric

Using instrument cable can result in damage to your head. A speaker cable has to be able to handle the higher current that an amp puts out, compared to the relatively weak signal a guitar's pickups put out.

Should the connector be TS or TRS?
EDIT: google says TS on both ends! Thanks, all!! |
