What's the value of a 1964 Fender Deluxe Reverb now? (PICS added)

So, I'm contemplating putting my beloved '64 Fender Deluxe Reverb on the sales block. What price would it command these days? I paid $3,100 several years back and have about $200 into tech service.

Cosmetically it's 9 out of 10! Seriously, it looks like a reissue, except for the browning of the front cloth.

It went through a cap job along with a 3 prong power cord change. I replaced the original speaker with a Jensen. Some tubes are original and others are JJs.

I have the original speaker (which still works, but took it out due to fatigue) and caps.

The amp was certified by Buzz at Larkstreet Music for its authenticity. It was serviced at Toobz, a famous tech shop in NJ.

Everything works perfectly!

Average selling price based on closed EBay auctions of a 1964 Deluxe Reverb over the past 17 months is $2,201.

While blackface Deluxe Reverb prices spiked to over $4k in a few cases in October '07, they haven't been over $2,800, even for excellent condition ones, since before April of this year.

A local store thinks I can get $2,700 for mine no problem based on its condition. I guess I'll wait, and obviously in no hurry. If anything maybe I'll trade for another vintage instrument.

if a local store thinks it can get $2700, put it up for consignment there and after fees you're still north of $2k.

Unless the local store has sold that model for that much recently, I'd wait too. The vintage amp market is way down right now.

I wouldn't settle for a vintage instrument.

I'd be trying to trade for an AMPSTRUMENT.

The local store is a famous vintage shop and they do have the pulse on the market. I may wait and trade it for a real nice vintage Tele! Or, if the economy picks up I'll just get one.

This is a special model 'cuz it's also my birth year too!

I just bought a '64 a few months ago. Nice and clean save for a changed speaker. I paid $2000 exactly and feel like I got a pretty good deal.

I was going to buy a '64 off a guy a couple months ago. Great shape, matching transformers, and it was like $2200.

Keep it. Seriously. You'll regret selling it. I've owned 3 (two bf's and a sf) and if I'd any idea what they'd be worth now (or how crappy the reissues sound in comparison), I would've kept all of 'em.

Especially in this day and age of lower-volume tastes and lower-volume gigs (at the time I also had a 50 watt Marshall halfstack, a Twin and a couple Super Reverbs).
