Skreddy Lunar Module - I know it's a fuzz, but this is my current go to high gain pedal.

Blackstar DistX. Sounds like the pre-amp of a high gain tube amp. Quite flexible. It runs a single 12AX7 at 300 volts, and while it does use some solid state clipping, the tube makes a big difference. (One way to verify this is to swap tubes--they change the sound pretty dramatically.) This is less of a pedal and more of a tube pre-amp that sits on the floor.

Meantone None more Black, Ramay Audioworks Raging Ramm, Tonefreak's Severe, and Lovepedal's Plexi 800. These really are top notch in the high gain dept.

Old school...DS-1

I'm guessing the hermidia or Suhr boxes would change my mind pretty quick. I've never played through a rat either.
