I'd love to get one of those. For me, a giggable amp MUST have a footswitchable boost. Sure, I've played plenty of gigs with a C30 and others that don't have one but then I'm forced to add an eq in the fx loop.

I usually do anyway even with my palomino but I don't like to be forced to. I like the option of being able to gig with just the amp and no pedals at all, whether I actually do or not.

For me, the palomino was the only one I could afford that had that option.

Ditto. I only giggged with my 2203 and a few pedals. It always worked great !!

Mid-80s Peavey Heritage VTX has been my go-to amp for many years now.
130w (and the LOUDEST watts I've ever heard!)
ss preamp, four 6L6 power tubes
2 12" Scorpions
on-board phaser & reverb

This amp never gets to 2 on the master volume without drowning out the entire band. Excellent pedal platform also.

I've had Marshalls & Laney AORs thru a 412 slant cab loaded with G12K-85s and this Heritage mops the floor with all of them.

But at 53, this 92 lb. beast is gettin' a little heavy.....

For the last several years, it's been a Dr. Z Maz 18 ... versatile and built like a tank.

Well from a reliability standpoint, I had a Ampeg solid state amp, can't remember the model, but it had the control panel that lit up like it was an etched circuit board with a light behind.
I gigged with that for several years until I blew a couple power transistors, so it was retired to the junk heat.
Then I got a Peavey Century amp, another solid state 100 watt amp.
That and a couple pedals and an old VOX 2 x 12 cab served me well until I got back into tube amps in the late 90's.

Tube amps are cool but they can act up at the most inopportune times.....

+1 on the Vibrolux, but you may also find the Chicago Blues Box Kingston 30 very useful...it has a small footprint (smaller than the Vibrolux) but a big sound. No footswitchable boost but has toggles to increase the brightness, and harmonic boost...it's dense (heavy) for it's size but easy/quick for me to dial in the sound I need..don't let the size fool you, it has alot of power (takes 6v6, 6L6, or EL34s, mixed or matched...)

Carol-Ann Tucana.
If I didn't have the Tucana it would be a Shiva.

If my back wasn't a concern, the Shiva would get another vote here.

Currently I use my Red Plate Blackloop Overdrive and occasionally my Bogner Duende. Both are very giggable amps with plenty of clean headroom (the redplate is a REALLY loud 50 watts) and built in creamy overdrive.

Soldano Astroverb 16 combo. One very musical channel and reverb. Add pedals to taste. Pretty light too. The best $400 I ever spent on Craigslist. Now if I could only find another...

Yes indeed. That is an excellent gigging amp.

1973 Ampeg VT40. It is just the perfect gigging amp.

Peavey Delta 1x15 and Hot Rod Deluxe. They cover a lot of ground.

When I was in the blues band, playing fairly hard blues, best sound I got was with a Peavey Delta Blues 1x15, clean channel around 7-8, pushed with an OCD V4. Man, that setup could do everything I needed. Clean to scream at the twist of the guitar's vol control.
