Not yet....I actually sold him one of my bray modified marshalls when he was looking into doing this amp. I think he even uses a post phase master on it. I would like to get the 100 watter!!!

Interesting to hear the Reeves against the Mojave which also does a good take on the early EVH tone.

Cool takes both. Feel like the Reeves gets it the saturation correct without being crazy gain based.

I always thought Mojave nailed it...and it does but this Reeves amp sounds pretty damn good.

Wonder what the Reeves would sound like if it had some real tubes in it. Groove Tubes? Yuk.

that was impressive...the website mentions hooking up the sm78 to a mic preamp, what does that accomplish? (excuse the newbie question)

Mic's by nature carry very low voltage so a pre-amp is used for recording purposes to open up the signal that is being recorded.

It's like plugging a pickup straight into a speaker..Sort of..Best analogy I can come up with at this point.

You have all the info you need on the site but in a gist, Reeves makes Dave Reeves era Hiwatt amps and the Super '78 is based on Eddie's famous brown sound from VH's early albums, which an old Marshall Super Lead was used. Speaking of which, does anyone know what happened to that amp?

Funny that a Hiwatt inspired amp is chasing the VH tone but I have to say these IMO are the best sounding Reeves clips I've heard. I think based on the clips anyway I much prefer the Reeves over the Mojave clips doing the VH thing. I really don't the VH in that specific Mojave clip. The Beautiful Girls clip is the only Mojave clip that sounds close to EVH IMO. I really wish this amp hadn't surfaced as I am a sucker for the old VH tone and this amp seems to do a nice job. With Bills 10 trial period I may consider a test run with this badboy!
