there aren't any tone pots on any of my guitars (1 used to be configured like a strat) but whatever works for u is the point > i figure if u don't use 'em then disconnect 'em

Discovering a Strat's tone knobs (and volume knob) is akin to going from black & white to HD color. Its the key to the tonal palette. Additionally - one of the best "tone" knobs on a Stratocaster guitar is the volume knob, especially if you've done a proper treble-bleed mod, and doubly so if you've the ability to bypass the tone stack completely (bypassing the tone stack is much different tonally than turning the volume controls up fully). With the way a run my amp, increasing the volume knob boosts volume, gain, and mids while reducing treble. If I want to compensate for increased mids and less treble - use the tone knobs. That incredible tonal palette is one of the really cool things I love about Strats....
