I've got an urge to build a (some) speaker enclosure(s) to match up with an amp I have coming - one of
Carvin's TS100 units. I want to build something that's a road case in and of itself, similar to this...
only different. Mine will have a face cover, just for starters. I want to be able to stack my 8 space ATA rack on top. But, forget the details. What I'm wondering is whether it would be worthwhile to do two 1x12 enclosures of that style rather than 1 2x12. I'm thinking I could still stack 2 1x12s to get the 2x12 arrangement if space were a problem, I could still stack the electronics rack on top of one if I didn't need two, and I could separate the two if I wanted stereo on stage.
But, as everyone knows, it's not the individual parts that wear on you during load out as much as the number of trips you have to make, and there's always the issue of how much space things take, not to mention weight. Another thing about two 1x12s is I could have radically different speakers in them to suit different situations. Then, building two 1x12s will cost a bit more... I don't know. What do you guys think?
