High gain pedal....recommend some for me please.

I'm looking for a high gain pedal, used to have a Vintage rat, and currently using a maxon SD9 but I want a pedal where actually the tone control really works, not as in the SD9.

Specs I want/need:

Price range: $1 to $250
True Bypass
Small footprint (not bigger than a Boss pedal)

I'm interested on the Suhr Riot but it seeme to be really hard to get.

I listened to Severe from Tone Freak, and it seems to be really good

Any ideas guys???

Thanks

I hear great things about the Riot!! Go to retailers emporium. Guitars ETC is getting 6 in this month, and I think still have 3 available for reserve. Call Louis and he will hold one for you with a 50% deposit...

Other good ones are the BJFE EGDM and DRD, and the DAM Sonic Titan...

You might try the None More Black from Menatone.

i'll second the provalve. but doesn't fit the footprint requirement.... provalve and cliff hanger stack with my OCD for some SERIOUS high gain tones.

i used to have one of those, incredible harmonics and very quiet for a high gain pedal

Real High Gain - Barber Dirty Bomb
High Gain - Fulltone OCD, Barber Direct Drive, or MI Audio Crunch Box

Even for more money, I can't think of a truly better option.

Oh, and I think my OCD may arrive today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The first 3 are always ON for Dirt, and I use the Sovereign as a Solo Boost.

It's bigger than boss but at about the same price...

Barber Dirty Bomb. I kind of wish it had a mids knob, but the mids hump setting on the switch is voiced perfect.

I actually got my Barber Super Sport to sound a lot like a Rat, but with more bottom end and a little sparkle. The distortion on it only went up to about 1:30-2 o'clock on the Rat though.
