Retroman Sybil question
I picked up one of these pedals used today. It is one of the single footswitch variety. I really like the sounds coming out of it. I have to admit that it is the first pedal to make me feel dumb. When it is set to parallel could somebody just tell me what each of the knobs does. The tone knobs seem to do some really funky things, specifically the on/off pot tone knob.
So a quick explanation of what is going on would be great. Or tell me the thing is malfunctioning, but I don't think that is the case. Thanks for any clues...

With parallel you only get one 'side' of the fuzz.
Turn the VOL knob down on the side you don't want. IIRC, you do need to keep the TONE knob above noon on the side you don't want, as well. Then use the side you DO want as normal. With series, you're running both together. Hopefully, that helps. I think the manual is availabe at RetroMan, too.

With parallel you get both sides and can blend them to taste with the volume knobs. The tone knobs are very interactive and requires some experimentation.
Did you get NKT 275s on the germanium side? That's where it's at IMO. |

Thanks, I knew there was something strange going on with the tone controls. Maybe I will email him and have him send me a manual, I couldn't find one on the site...
No I got the standard AC188s. I want to spend some time with those to see if I find myself wanting more. Even without really knowing what I was doing with the controls I was able to get some really nice sounds.
