My mom and dad had the green 70 and blue 50. So I kinda inherited them. So much fun! One of my favorite memories for sure. Would ride them around the fairgrounds and there were lots of trails behind the fairgrounds.

The 70 could really move, but that thing wasn't balanced very well so it was a bit challenging to drive. So extremely lucky I didn't get about 50 tickets on that bike riding it on the street and just doing goofy stuff on it.

I don't know - it was different than a regular bike for sure, but I used to "surf" on mine. Due to the fact that the return spring (was there one?) on the throttle was extremely weak, you could crank it open and leave it there. Then I'd stand up on that fat seat they had and ... "surf."

As a kid I desperately wanted a Honda XR75, but I guess Mom thought I'd put my eye out or something.

Thanks for the pics guys bring back many memories.

Had a ct-70 when my brothers and I were younger, lots of fun. The one that got me started on motorcycles was a Rupp Roadster, I'll never forget it. Have a Suzuki TL 1000 now with 70,000 miles on it.

I used to ride my neighbors CT-70 when we were kids. It was one of my favorite things to do. I had a Kawasaki 100 later on but the Honda was just as fun.

Yikes. I had a Trail 70, some Yamaha that was about the same size, and a XR75. Finally got a Honda Elsinore 125 (73-74?), and began motocross racing, which is what I wanted to do all along.

I rode several of them back in the day. Somewhere around are pictures of me in my first band in 9th grade (circa '73) all posed around one, using it as a prop. Can't remember whether it was a Trail 70 or a Trail 90. It was blue. I also had friends who let me ride their Yamaha Mini-Enduros, which looked like shrunken versions of DT-series bikes and had, IIRC, 125 cc engines. Yet another friend had the Suzuki Trail-Hopper, which I suspect was more rare than either the Honda or Yamaha offerings.

Here's mine. Nowhere to ride in CA. Must be a designated off-road area and there aren't any close.

I still keep a beat up bike and four wheeler at our camp.
Mountain roads for miles up there in maine.

when I was a kid and way too young and timid to be riding one, I crashed into a fence and messed up the right handle assembly.. Our redneck solution was to attach the throttle to a counterlevere'd stick by the seat so you'd control the throttle wiht moving your right leg in and out from the bike. talk about sketch!
