Was shocked to realize that I don't like my "favorite" picks anymore!

I used to use Dunlop Tortex .60 (orange) and thought that I'd never want a different pick. But for a while now I've not used any pick, just fingers, and when I picked up a trusty old orange pick last night, it felt flimsy in my hand and vague and light on the strings.

So I guess I'm in the market for a new kind of pick. The only time I really feel the need for one is doing fast and heavy chords like for speed metal or something, most of the time I just tuck the pick into my palm and fingerpick with my other fingers.

I know I don't like the huge triangle picks or the tiny teardrop shaped ones, but other than that I'm open to suggestions.

HELP! Please.

Try some "regular" size and shape Ultex picks. Nothing flimsy or vague about those picks!

I use the Jazz sized ones, but I like the regulars too.

Wes Montgomery..... Kevin Eubanks.... Mark Knopfler... Earthtonesaudio... IMHO, if you feel more comforable without it, its easier to figure out how to play metal without it than do everything with it.

I have a plastic bucket with about 100 different types of picks. Everything from freebies to Wegens and Dugains. I like different picks on different days. My typical favorites are D'Andrea Pro Plecs, Fender Medium or Heavy, and Dunlop Jazz III. Honorable mention goes to the Spinal Tap picks that Guitar Center handed out about 10 years ago. Great for strumming an acoustic.

Seriously, the Fred Kelly Bumblebee plays like a pick, once you get used to it, and you can surf/shed and still keep all the tasty nuance that bare fingers allow.
