Does this Strat look Fugazi to you?

http://kitchener.kijiji.ca/c-buy-and...AdIdZ179768103
This guitar is local so i called the guy up.His story is he's a luthier and he order this partsacaster directly from Fender"They will do anything you order" was his explanation.
Apparently it's a Mayer body with CS-69's and American hardware. The neck is supposedly an SRV.I dunno am i getting too suspicious of things or is this a lash up as i suspect?

Looks like a strat to me, but Fender doesn't sell partscasters.

I've never heard that before, that you can order parts direct from Fender. I would be worried too. If the price is too good to be true, it probably is...

They won't sell finished bodies and necks like that. Especially artist/signature ones. How much is he asking?

He's playing the old "make an offer" game and i don't play that way.The SRV sig on the back of the headstock was suspect it should be on the front also the tint to the neck is too pale.Doesn't look like Pao-ferro either on the fretboard.
The ordered that way explanation made no sence to me especially signature parts.
My take is it's a cleverly done Mexican maybe Robert cray neck? with 69 CS pickups.http://kitchener.kijiji.ca/c-buy-and...AdIdZ179768103

By partscaster, you mean Fender CS just made his custom order from the parts that he wanted right? He didn't order the parts and assemble it himself?

A buddy of mine ordered a strat from the CS and he got it spec'd out exactly the way he wanted. Wood type, routing, CS colour finish, CS colour pickguard, roller nut, etc. Everything.

However, I don't know if the CS would just pull different artist series pieces and put it together for you. It doesn't seem too far fetched, but I wonder if there are any marketing or legal issues for the CS to sell mix and matched artist sig guitars?

The trem is a mexi trem, probably a mexi standard body with a who knows neck. This is a bad attempt. I would offer $200 and if you get it, great!
