Ground question

Hey guys i am currently changing the pickups and electronic harness on my 335. I have 2 questions that maybe you guys could help me with.
1. There is a ground cable that was soldered to one of the terminals of the old input jack. The new jack is a switchcraft and does not have that terminal. The new harness does have in the toggle switch what seen like a ground to goes to one of the pots. Is that the ground and if not where should i solder that ground cable?
2. What do i need to do so to facilitate pickups changes in the future. I have have read about it before but i can not find it now.

Any help will be appreciated!

If you have a non switching jack it should have two connections one that is the tip of your cable when inserted and the other the sleeve. The sleeve connection is your ground and would have continuity with other grounds in your ckt. Check out the wiring diagrams online for the 335. Hope this helps.
