My old JBL L-112 Speakers

On the heels of the McIntosh thread.....

I've had these JBLs for 25+ years.
They've been sitting in the the garage for the past 4 years, because the surrounds on the 12" drivers have disintegrated. Plus, they're big and loud and I don't listen to music as attentive as I used to.

There's an ad in the paper looking for older HiFi gear.
I call him... he's excited. I tell him $250-300 bucks for the pair.
I then (Maybe I should have done this before calling the guy!)) do a little looking around the web. It seems they're pretty desirable.

So what would you do?
Sell them for $250-300?
Keep them- till I wish I still had them, and then realize that I do still have them!?
Try to sell them for more $$?

It's not like I can sell them on the net...they are heavy!

I've listened to ALOT of music on those speakers!

Just my two cents ~
He's excited. You were satisfied. He's ready, so were you ~
Make someone happy : )

You'll feel good that they are being appreciated and finding another buyer might not be as easy as it may seem

Hey! we both joined TGP in Nov '06

Russ,

THe problem with big speakers of yesteryear is ergonomics, less is more. You can get a subwoofer which you can place in corners of the room out of the way,so to speak. Then get yourself some lovely small yet,( covering the frequencies above where the sub leaves off), speakers. And hopefully, this new system does everything and more than the JBL's did in their prime.
