VOX AC15CC1 Upgrade (Speaker, Reverb Tank, Tubes)

I've finally decided to keep the VOX with my DRRI.

I have the AC15CC1 with the Wharfdale speaker. I want to upgrade it to a Weber Blue Dog Alnico. Is that a good choice? I know the Celestion Blue ALNICO is the standard for AC15CC1X, but Weber seems to make great speakers for less money (I've got a Weber 12F150 in my DRRI!). What other speakers are a good fit?

Which reverb tank would you use? I would use the exact same one in the DRRI if possible (or something similar).

For the tubes, I've heard JJ's are the best.. but which models in which position?

Thanks!

The Accutronics 8EB2C1B is the common reverb replacement for the AC15CC. As for the speaker, the Weber Alnico blue dog is nice, I would go with the 30Watt light dopped. Scumback also has a scumico, there is the eminence red fang, and WGS has an alnico blue type speaker too. Lots of good options, but the Celestion Alnico blue is really the way I would go personally.

For tubes, I would go with JJ EL84's and Tung Sol Reissue 12AX7's (assuming you don't have the money for NOS).

Look into clipping the bright cap while you are doing the work. I a not a big fan of bright caps that can't be switched out. They just hurt the perfomance of the amp if you use dirt pedals. The AC15CC1 and DRRI (vibrato channel only) both have bright caps.

If you can find one, go for the WGS black and blue. Here is a sample:
