What's a strong mid-voiced amp...thats not a Marshall

What's a good mid voiced amp (no Marshall) that is around 50 watts, has two channels and an effects loop?

Most Mesa-Boogie amps are voiced with heavy mids. Think Fender + mids + Gain...

My Rivera Chubster fits that description. Admittedly I had trouble bonding with it until I switched from EL34's to JJ6V6's though. Bob

The Rectifier series has scooped mids. Which Mesa are you talking about?

I ask because I've finally found exactly which cab I want to get, but I can't pick a head to go with it
The cab that I want is an Avatar contemporary 2x12 cab with Scumback H55 and M75 speakers. I'll take just about any 50 watt mid voiced amp with 2 channels and an effects loop. And I need some strong mids!

It's the mesa mark series that have a lot of mids, not the rectos.

Yep, pretty much any Mark II, III, or IV. Hope your back's in good shape! Built like tanks, they are.

I think the Rectifiers are the only Mesa amp that does not have a ton of midrange.

The tweed Fenders have a lot of midrange. But do not have 2 channels.
Some Fryette amps also do, My Sig X cuts great. As well the other English voiced amps like ~ Hiwatt, Orange, etc. I think it would be hard to find a amp that cuts better in a mix than any of the THD amps, but do not have two channels.

I am not a fan of any of the amps Marshall has made with two channels.

Thats why I said Mesa-Boogie. Boogie is only on the Mark series I believe. "Mesa" Is the only name on the lonestar and rectifiers.

Soldano Hot Rod 50+ ... they seem to be pretty plentiful on the used market and they're a rock solid amp with great tone.

I like the older Peavey Ultra heads and combos. Great deals to be had.
