Fulltone Clyde Deluxe

I have been using my Clyde Deluxe for a little while. I really like the pedal but last night I started really digging it. I decided to take the back off and experiment with the dial inside (marked by Mike Fuller). I don't have any idea what the thing is suppose to do but I dialed it back a bit and it seemed to respond to my wah style much better. Where do you guys set that dial? I'm wondering if it can be dialed in even better to suit my needs. These pedals are a lot different from other wah units I have tried and owned. I want to dial it in as close to a classic pedal as possible, any suggestions?

Seems to me that pot adjust the intensity of the EQ boost. Turn it down and the wah effect weakens (lower EQ 'hump'), turn it up and the wah effect gets more intense to the point of clipping near max. I like it best around 3/4 of the way to max - gets more 'vocal' beyond halfway.

I'll have to open mine up. I like the wah, but it's never quite there for me.

Enocaster... that is exactly how I felt. I have always used a wah and have owned tons it seems. Everything from an old Vox King Wah, classic Vox', Morley (hate them, sorry), most of the Crybaby brand, Budda, Standard Clyde, and this is my second Deluxe.

The reason I got rid of the Standard and the last Deluxe is because they just didn't behave the way I was use to all my others. I heard a guy use a Deluxe one night in a bar and decided to give it one more attempt at making it work. Up until I started futzing around with the internal trimmer, it just wouldn't play fair with me. I was about to sell it and then read a thread here about it (it was an old thread and I want newer ideas). Like you said, it just wasn't quite there for me. I know exactly what you mean. I have been fooling around with it for about an hour now and have her right where I want her - close to Fullers mark but slightly less. I really like the way it is responding to my style. I also like another setting that is just beyond the recommended mark. Not until I run it through my main rig again will I decide on the correct spot for me. Take her apart and play around. The trimmer is very much just what I needed to learn about to fall in love with this pedal. I have her responding perfectly now and the tone just simply can't be beat IMO, much like the rest of the pedals Mike touches.
