i found the most expensive squier!

a $4k+ '51

I can understand the joys of a squier '51 when they were $100 or so new, but why pay $4k for one just b/c it was a CS piece?!

Or any Fender, for that matter?

That's hardly a '51.

'51s have a splittable humbucker in the bridge, not on a baseplate, they have a Strat pickup in the neck, not a lipstick or a Tele pup, they have a 6 saddle toploader bridge, etc.

That simply has some elements of look and feel from a '51, but is in no way a '51.

Kind of like calling a Boxster and a 911 the same car --- eh, not really.

i really like the looks of that...be cool if they were to offer it as a production model, either US or MIM.

Why do they need a pickguard to cover half the body just for a single lipstick pickup? Kind of overboard.

Umm all I can say is wow. Someone told me they build CS guitars because there is a market for them but I can buil that guitar in my basement sell it for a grand and still make decent $. It's really crazy what people are willing to pay for some flamey maple and a two tone finish, just crazy. I really should start "custom" building guitars for people. Just crazy.
