Can anyone identify this fighter jet?

It has been flying back and forth over my house for at least 10 minutes, and it's LOUD!

Looks like an F-15 to me. The give away on those is the twin uprights on the tail.

F15 Eagle -- which is going out of commission soon. The only Fighter Jet to NEVER be shot down. One heck of fighter!

I've been in love with that airplane ever since my sixth grade class (back in the 80's) took a field trip to Elmendorf AFB in Anchorage, AK. We got to go out on the flight line and see F-15's in action, including the max effort takeoff where they climb to 30,000 feet in about 60 seconds. Just amazing. I've always been utterly green with envy for the people who fly those. Admiration, too. You gotta know your shit to get that particular gig.

Hard to shoot down a plane where the thrust exceeds the payload.

Did not know that....awesome.

There's a place call Lake Kachess up in the mountains here in the PNW. We go up there to camp/fish/recreate. Nice and queit....except when the F-15 pilots from Fort Lewis decide to use the canyon for practice. You'll be sitting there and all of a sudden a pair of them come screaming down low through the canyon, tip on their side, and the pilots wave at you.

It's happened to me on two separate occasions.

Love it.
