hissing noise from vibrochamp

when I strum a chord or play notes through my Vibrochamp I hear a hissing noise. The hiss *stops* after the notes are fully decayed. The noise is not present when the amp is idling. What might this be?? (thanks in advance)

I traced the same sound on my Champ to the preamp wires vibrating against the chassis. Try "dressing" the wires a bit. Also see if the little ceramic cap is on the 6V6- could be an oscillation.

Try cleaning and retension the tube contacts in the sockets especially on the pre amp section. Just went through the same thing. Sound vibrations, loose tube connections can cause this to happen.

Don't forget to drain the cap voltage before working on it or you wont be able to tell us how you made out.
