Great thread I must admit nearly all my pedals are purchased after a few beers I guess it's down to the Dutch courage, ha ha I've spent a fortune on gear after night out on the pop!

Ha!! I knew I wasn't alone. Not impulsive on my choices however. I did a LOT of research.

I sat down at the computer one night with a big glass of wine to buy one of those $40 Vox Amplug headphone thingies - by the time the glass was empty I had bought a brand-new Adrenalinn III to the tune of $375.

Oh man have I. My Texeira amp... for one. hahaha

but not a single regret about it. I just won't eat ramen noodles again... until I make another pricey impulse buy like that

Me. It helps me cut down on drunk-dialling ex-girlfriends. NOT cheaper, though.

I've been guilty of this as well. A few months back my girlfriend and I decided to stay in and make Italian and drink wine. Well, I tried to cook and messed everything up, so we just drank wine. At 2'ish I decided to buy a Plum Crazy FX Siclops. I was a bit pissed the next day, but when I got the pedal I was thrilled. I've owned a ton of fuzz pedals and this one takes the cake.

This isn't a late night thing, but I once bought a Tex- Mex Strat on impulse (I had been kind of shopping for one) just for keeping a Doctors appointment (bad back...). My best friend just bought a Tweed Deluxe clone a few nights ago...GAS (or I guess in his case "AAS") +alcohol= Tweed Deluxe

The only time I do that sort of thing is after I've already done the research and I'm just on the fence about if and when. I've never bought something, then regretted it - at least gear wise in the last 10 years.
