Quite often I'll use an SCP or Serrano at the front of my chain, at unity, to buffer the rest. If I'm shooting videos and have a cable length issue (often) my secret weapon is the SCP right after my axe, at unity. Try it.

I had the SCP and I currently have an SHO clone built by this1smyne. The SCP, when not in fat mode is a nice boost that really doesn't change your tone, just makes it louder. The SHO clone seems to add a little presence that you may or may not like. I'm not sure which I like better.

I found the SCP really coloured my tone, made it sound "shinier" and processed. It was hugely noticeable. I only kept it a couple of days, then promptly sold it.

I've tried both the SCP and the SHO and my preference, if the goal is simply to run something on all the time, at unity, would be the Lehle Sunday Driver - HANDS DOWN!

I was skeptical but the moment I tossed that in my chain (Guitar > 4-5 pedals > Matchless Lightning)..... WWHHHOOOOOO! The entire signal just blossoms AND you can actually drive the signal a bit with the Lehle.

The SCP isn't supposed to be completely transparent, it has the mosfet thing going on... maybe it's better w/ single coils?

FAIRFIELD BARBERSHOP
it adds some sparkle........and grit if you want it.
Also can adjust the sag for attack/tone kinda like a rectifier on a pedal.
write them and find out if it will suit what you are after....and then some.
I frigg'n love it. It's the OD pedal for me.

as well......it's a fair price and doesn't look like shit. Designed/built like a tank.
F'N EH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

: )

I would never use a mosfet boost in front of a Marshall.

Maybe you should include that in the pedal's promo material, then.

Or better yet, put it right on the pedal. I can see it now... "DO NOT PUT IN FRONT OF A MARSHALL"... LOL!

I have a SHO and find that it adds bass.

I have been using the SHO for awhile now and am sometimes tempted to just keep in on all the time. I use it as a solo/lead boost as well as using it to give some clarity to open chords. It does add a bit of "sparkle?" to your tone on it's lower setting which I personally love.

I had also used a Keeley Katana for a couple of years before the SHO and that gives more of a transparent boost if your simply looking for a line drive type of boost.

Radial PB-1 for this application. Great buffer with a boost you can kick in as desired. In my experience, sounds and feels like guitar -> short cable -> amp.
