Suhr Riot Pedal - Switching noise?
Hi there, just received my Riot distortion pedal and while I dig the sounds I´m a little surprised that it generates a clicking noise (well two, actually) through the amp every time I switch the pedal on.
This becomes especially noticeable with the gain at two o´clock or higher. Is this normal behaviour (I only had two - much cheaper - pedals out of my collection do this, ever) or do I have a faulty unit? I tried the obvious stuff (changing all cables, the amp, powersupply, battery, guitar) already. Thanks in advance for chiming in! |

Mine has never done that, but i read another thread on this forum where someone had that problem.
If you do a search for "Riot" it might pop up. I forget what the verdict was

Hey thanks for pointing me in the right direction!
I thought I had read every single Riot post, but somehow the "Does your switch pop?"-one escaped my attention. A little click when switching while not playing is normal and to be expected according to John Suhr, good to know, back to playing :-) |

In the next few weeks we have 20 going to Guitar Guitar and 10 going to Peach Guitars. We are just waiting for the rest of their orders to be finished for other product shipping with them.

They don't "pop" it is a slight click, there may be things we can do to make it better and we are always working on improvements. It really is not any noisier than any true bypass switch. If we should find some improvements we are always there to support our products and will provide upates.

It's like John says, there's a very slight mechanical click when you depress the momentary footswitch. Less noise than your standard pedal footswitch. As for the signal, no, I don't get any audible pop.

Just got my Riot yesterday. It does make two small clicks when you activate it, but you only hear them if you are not playing. No big deal at all.

It's called true bypass.
