NGD: Wayloncaster

Posted earlier asking for a value on something like this, (and if anyone knows feel free to let me know), no one responded and it was selling cheap, so i went ahead and picked it up.

this started life as a '52 ri telecaster, but has been highly modified since then. the low e tuner was changed out to a keith banjo d-tuner but i changed it back to stock. came with a glendale bridge with compensated saddles, steel on the low e-a and brass on the rest. top it off with a full on gawdy as hell painted embossed leather cover complete with flying W on the back.
i'm not even really a waylon jennings fan, but i'm diggin it.
forgive the photo's, cellphone is all i got.

dude, I'd play the hell out of that. I've thought about making myself a leather wrapped tele someday.

i've been playing it side by side with my modded highway 1 tele (brass saddles, nocaster pups) and its got alot more sizzle to it. brighter and poppier. the highway 1 is a little more rockin. dunno if its the alder vs the ash, the nocaster pups vs the 52's, or the ghost of waylon.

the lace IS a little uncomfortable on my forearm after 3 hours of playing sitting down. gotta figure out a way to soften up the leather binding.
also, found a small shim in the neck, will this affect the tone of the guitar significantly since it isnt strait wood on wood contact?

The body is completely covered in leather and you are wondering if a shim in the neck will affect the tone?

I got around this by just carving the guitar, LOL.

My Waylonesque Schecter:

I didn't really hew to the exact design Waylon had...if I was going to do it again, I'd put a pickguard on so it looked a little more Waylonish.

so does anyone have any idea what the value on something this heavily modded would be? does it kill the value, enhance the value, or stay the same?
