Barber Dual Discrete

No posts about this since 2008?? Wow... I'm thinking about ordering one up, to get rid of my 2-pedal OD system I use now. I realize due to cost they might not be as popular as the other Barber stuff, but wanted to see if anybody has one & still loves it...

I'm thinking of going with an LTD-SR/Tone Pump combo. One clear "flat" OD, one middy TS-like OD. I've owned the SR (great pedal), but never owned the TP. What do you got?

Got em individually. That sounds like a great combo!

If I went with the Dual Discrete route I would def go with the LTD SR and TP. That would be a killer combo and a great space saver on a board great minds think alike

Can anybody tell me which of Dave's overdrives is the smoothest/thickest? (most TS-like)? Seems like the TP & DD are, but I don't need tons of gain, which is why I'm thinking TP over DD...

I've heard the TP to be compared to a FD2, which I own, and feels is a very smooth OD. I know the DD has a lot more gain on tap than the TP and the DD is more of a crunchier OD.

It's hard for me to plan my ideal DDD, but the TP and DDLG would be pretty close.

DOUBLE is enuff!!

Seriously- David, which one of your drives would you describe as the "thickest" and/or "most midrange/low-mids"? I'm thinking about calling to order up an LTD-SR for one side, and something THICK (like TS thick) for the other side...?

Wouldn't need alot of gain... I'm pushing an already-cooking amp. Certainly no more gain than a TS-type. If the DD can do all-out distortion, then I probably don't need that.

Thanks Dave! I've owned an SR and LOVED that thing... you'll probably be getting a call soon... just unloading a couple things on the bay.
