Question Timefactor Questions!

Whenever I switch from Preset Mode back to Play Mode the delay setting isn't the same as before I switch to Preset Mode. In other words, the control parameters are not reflected in Play Mode even having not touched any of the controls - this happens when switching between modes. I would think that when switching modes, going from Preset to Play Mode, that it would put you back on the last used setting in Play Mode. Is there any way to adjust the unit so it does this? Any thoughts on why my timefactor is not reflecting the control parameters after switching back to Play Mode from Preset Mode?

Thanks,
Peter

Sounds like it is time to call Eventide. They are very nice and helpful. (201) 641-1200

Also, make sure you have the latest update for the TimeFactor (2.4.1[5])

as they are constantly fixing and improving things. The tape echo really got sweet from the last update.

Is Global on? That will lock every patch to the same tempo/mix etc...

2.4.1[5] Beta is newer than 2.4.2?

If so, I'll try updating to the Beta to see if that fixes things.

Global is definitely off.

Thanks for the suggestions guys! keep them coming.

under global is mix/tempo...turn them off and you will keep those 2 parameters the same but switching between different modes will always reset what you have set up since each knob represents something different...

Right, but my problem is that I haven't adjusted any knobs/parameters at all. Just switching between Play and Bank mode results in something weird when getting back to Play Mode. In other words, are you saying that whenever you switch from play mode to bank mode and then back to play mode it is impossible to retain the original play mode setting even after having not adjusted one control parameter?

So the mix/tempo will remain the same, but say modulation and delay B are completely off in my Play Mode, why would it be added if it is off in Play Mode just by switching between the two modes?

oh sorry for some reason I thought you were in the editing stage...lol sorry about that...still yes; if you are in bank mode and switch to a different bank w/o saving you previous settings it will revert back to whatever was saved or the stock preset

on another note I would by a 3 button expression pedal because that has to be just annoying and you probally will not have that problem...

no worries, I do appreciate in your input and feedback. I'm not too concerned about switching from bank to bank, but rather from play to bank and back to play. That's where my issue is happening - coming back into play mode. The sound does not reflect the knobs when I switch back to play mode from bank mode

SO after saving some presets and messing around some...it seems like when switching from bank mode to play mode the sound is the same as the last patch used in bank mode. How does everyone else's timefactor work? When you switch from bank to play mode what setting do you hear - the way the knobs are set or the last patch from bank mode?

I just answered you on the Eventide forum. My TF acts the same way. When you go into Play mode you are entering the preset you just came from in Bank mode. I'm sure they designed it this way so I'm pretty sure everyone's TF acts this way.

Play mode is not meant to reflect the sound of the current knob positions. I don't use Play mode since I don't use the Repeat function and I have Tap on an external footswitch plus when in Bank mode you can still turn each preset off and on.

The latest official release for both the TF and MF is 2.4.2(1), which I believe is newer than 2.4.1(5).

2.4.2(1) is THE newest official release and is more recent than the 2.4.1(5) Beta
