So i told my GF how much i paid for my Gustavsson

I picked up this Bluesmaster from TGP member GAT this past week....nice Goldtop w/ '59 neck carve....I had the chance to buy a G about 5 years ago for a "good" price and thought who would pay that for a somewhat unknown luthier...well, here we are.

Obviously had high expectations but after chatting with GAT i pretty much knew what i was getting into....and it really is something else. In a nutshell, it's like playing a Les Paul and Tele at the same time. Really PHAT on the bass notes but clear/articulate. It also does split coil which is an added bonus...I expected perfection and it's all there..Also love that dark board.

The price tag also leaves me cold but after owning many LP's (and boutique equivalents).....it just doesn't get any better than this.

My partner's reaction was "wow" when i told her the price but thought it was the best sounding guitar i had owned....I told her Valentine's dinner was on me : - )

cool story and congrats on your new gus! those are sublime guitars that have to be played to understand just how good they are. yes, the price is high, but if you are willing to pay the admission, you are in for a great ride...

Nice! Ya, my gf was surprisingly supportive when I texted her with something like "I'm about to spend $10k on a guitar - if this is ridiculous please stop me now!" She said something like "Yea, that's a lot, but you'll regret it if you don't" - dead on there.

The fact that you're alive to tell the story proves that she's your girlfriend and not your wife.

Is that fretboard Brazilian or ebony? If that's Brazilian, I'm impressed. That's super dark. I dig it!

Doesn't the same rule as to your GF's age apply? One half, plus 7. You paid $5007 for it, correct?
