Here's a little something. This is a 20W-label G12M, T1221, 12GL which I guess is July 1966, cones are hard to read but appear to be 51/003. I've got six of these. This one's label probably isn't the best. Any info on these is welcome.

M-bigfro- I suspect Jim might agree with me that T1234 is most likely for your 8 ohm 11/29/73 G12H30s. If cones are original, I'd say most likely to have "3" stamps or possibly "RIC2xx". Original plastic backs could have been green or creme, in G12H30 T1281 I've got 11/73 that's still green but a 10/73 that's creme.

KK Jale- Very cool first year 20W 75c/s greenbacks. July 12, 1966 is right, just in time for Fresh Cream! Any photos of the front? Those earliest G12Ms varied a lot in doping, some w/almost none, I'd be curious. Other possible quirks from '66- quite a few had the magnet polarity reversed from "normal" from the factory. Some had terminal plates that were actually dark grey not true black, can't really tell from that photo. These had white, minimally-treated paper voice coil formers that were different from later vintage greenbacks, sound great IMO but more subject to sudden death by heat!

Hey, thanks for the info, Jeff!

I apologise for the photo quality...

KK J- Thanks for posting the photos, I guess I missed those last week. Classics of the genre, for sure.

By the date code clearly on the one - ME 27 - May 27th, 1979. The T code indicates a lead cone.

The "T" does not indicate a lead cone. It's merely the letter they put in front of the frame/speaker code.

T1221 is a G12M 75hz "lead cone"

T1511 is a G12M 55hz "bass cone"

Not sure where you got that info but it's incorrect.

Perhaps the whole code was intended. But the "ME" in the case of those nice looking T1217s indicates 12/72, reversed it for 5/79. Don't feel bad though, Celestion did that quite often themselves in the '70s!

This Basketweave Cab is listed as a 1969 but I believe the # makes it out to be from 1968. No labels on the T1281s, but what can you tell me from the other number there:

Cab Serial Number 15295 (1968?)
Speakers: Quad of G12H T1281

I am interest in buying this cab but would like to find out if these are a "matched" quad and what cones (bass or lead).

Thanks for your help!

Great thread here!
Sorry to be late for the party, but can anybody give their opinion on this speaker.
I have a chance to buy this locally... around how much should this be worth?
the seller says it from the 70's, but does not have any other info:

Much appreciated!
Thanks!

Going to need more pics of that one, sir, to tell you what it is/worth/etc. Right off the bat that's an early 69 G12M 8 ohm based on the date code, but I've seen those restamped (faked), too. And the magnet cover & label would definitely be the wrong one for that early a speaker.

Can you get front, back, speaker wire tab, and cone # pics?

Thanks Jim!
I'm gonna go check it out in person and see if I can take a good look in there.
