Humbucker Advice--without the cost consideration
Hey guys--
I have an Agile PS blue flame: http://www.rondomusic.com/product855.html I'm looking to upgrade the stock p'ups since it is now my only axe (and move the improved p'ups into another Agile I want to buy). Since it is my go-to, I don't want to skimp and wish I had spent more. But I have no experience switching them out, and don't know how to evaluate a new purchase. I've read about WB Firewaters, and their description seems like exactly what I am looking for. I want a fat sound with good distortion in the bridge and some clear, chordy cleans in the neck. I like Minus the Bear (distorted and clean tone), American Football--just the ability to have a clean AND distortion that allows me to play chords and leads without sounding thin. I play this guitar through a big pedal board (I know, canceling some of the effect) into a Fender Blues Deluxe in a pine case. Might upgrade to something more "rock" in the future, but I like the clean tones on this amp and drive it with a BBE Green Screamer, Little Big Muff, and MXR Classic Distortion for different sounds. Thanks for your help! |

Thinking about WB Firewaters. Sounds like they fit with a PRS, and represent the range I want. Thoughts?

if u are looking for a decent price...i use the Stewart mcdonald golden age 50's. They are schaller replicas and sound very good and about 40 bucks a piece. they make regular and hot versions.
