Any Idea what this is worth?

A friend just discovered a vintage Washburn J-6. Its in great shape and has a bigsby bridge. I'll try and get the year narrowed down but I'm guessing its mid to early 60's. Good shape and nice sunburst finish. Thanks if anyone has any idea.

I don't believe Washburn was making electric guitars in the 60s. AFAIK, they didn't begin production on electrics until 1979 or so.

Could be. I'm just going from what the guy said based on the age of the grandfather who was the owner.

I don't think they made hollow electrics until the late 80's/early 90's.

A J-6 is going to be a relatively contemporary guitar, at least the late '80s... probably Korean built but some came out of Japan originally and the more recent ones were Chinese... the word "vintage" certainly doesn't apply but they're okay hollowbodies... Worth? Anywhere from $350-$600 probably in this economy, depending on where it was built, condition, and what you can convince someone else to pay for it...

Thats kinda what I'm thinking based on what I've read here and found on the net. Its a cool guitar but pictures only tell so much. They also think he might have a 52-53 tele laying around. Hopefully that will turn out to be right.
