Favorite "make your amp sound like your amp but at lower volume" pedal

Sorry for the long subject line but I am looking for a great pedal to do just that; so that I can use my amp, with some drive at lower volume levels, take other pedals well, has some good feel.

My first guess would be the DLS. Any other contenders out there?

Thanks!

Analogman KOT4. Does a great job of that very task for me.

Timmy can add dirt while still sounding like your amp.

A good attenuator - I really don't see what I pedal can.

Thanks for the responses. I am not talking bedroom volume but a lower BAND volume. I play a variety of amps but thinking about something like a 18 watt el84 deal. I usually like to play with the amp on the edge of break up, dig in and it's dirty, back off and it cleans up. Some jaming situations don't allow for that volume. I have yet to find a convincing pedal that will "tame" volume this way. Attenuators may help but I feel, no matter what brand, they suck off high end.

My friend has a DLS and he uses it this way, his tone is awesome. He is a different player, different style etc so I don't know. I will probably give that a try but was just wondering if there were some good choices out there.

Thanks

The Timmy does that and stacks wonderfully with other dirt pedals.

I do that with my Gainster, but it's got a similar gain to my amps.

Tim was close for me. I don't think any pedal I've heard completely nails it.

Another vote for the Timmy. When I had mine, I was playing a MAZ 18 head and it sounded absolutely fantastic.

I'll also add the OCD v1.4 - I'm amazed at this pedal - it's great in front of anything I've tried - Egnater Seminar 50W Head, S2, Crate PB, EHX .22 Caliber, Mesa Mk 1 RI. It's got lots of range for a Boost/Dirt pedal. I use mine with the VOL pegged, and the Dirt barely on - it gives me a little edge, and is noticeable at any volume level without changing your tone but it can do that too if you want.
