Peter Cornish Pedals Size

Could anyone please explain to me why the Peter Cornish pedals are so freakishly huge?

Just like those ridiculous size Motorola headphones that NFL football coaches wear.

Those are more for noise cancellation.

I'd say Cornish pedals are big so they can survive life on the road. Pete designs his stuff with the pros in mind.

Well, a battery drawer takes up quite a bit of space, big PCB's, clean wiring, noise cancellation, durability; these are probably all reasons why they are so big.

I really like the size and the construction of Pete's pedals - the large dimensions mean that chickenhead knobs can be used with sensible spacing between them and turning the pedal on and off doesn't have to mean accidently knocking the knobs with your foot.

Theres always the 'Duplex' option if you fancy two of Petes effects (I have two Duplexes)
and want to save valuable pedalboard space.

The battery trays that he uses does take up space which is why he's going to bring out a 'battery free' range in smaller enclosures. A few people on this forum already have some. Pete made some for Lou Reed and made some extras and these were offered to people on the waitlist.
Pete told me that these smaller units won't be available for quite a few months though.

um, id bet that a boss pedal has a lot better of a chance surviving a world wide tour than a cornish.... and they are significantly smaller....

Most people he builds pedals for play on huge stages where pedal size and pedalboard size is not an issue.

Yeah exactly. I mean Boss pedals are rugged but Cornish pedal are not toys those things look like tanks. I think in either case you'd have to do something incredibly dumb to kill one of those pedals.

I forgot that he's big into hiding the pedals inside his boards...or if there's a Bradshaw type system, the player doesn't see them at all, so it sort of doesn't matter what boxes he uses for his BMPs or compressors.
