Who Is Esteban.?

Has anybody ever seen this guy on stage.? What did you think of him, besides his schlocking of "Amazing" $200.00 guitars.?

Ive checked him out on Wikipedia and I cant decide what is true and what is bullsh*t with this guy. He's very average for a guy that professes to have studied with Andres Segovia. I read elsewhere that he just took a group master class with Segovia which makes more sense to me. Segovia used to teach these group classes all the time. I believe he credits Segovia with naming him Esteban.

Seems like a nice enough guy that really believes in the crap gtrs he sells. Im sure hes made a large fortune if you quickly calculate the number of sold gtrs times all the models and appearences.

Cant stand that those terrible mariachi versions of every song he plays.

He has his own website thats sort of interesting.

We bought the guitar and 8 DVD set for my nephew. From what I saw of the first few CD's, he's pretty awesome at what he does.

I remember at least 15 years or more ago he was the lounge guitarist at the Hyatt in Scottsdale, AZ. Used to see him play there all the time.

I find it hard to believe that he studied with Segovia- he seems to have pretty average chops, from what I've heard. Other than that, he's a total scoundrel for shilling for those inferior examples of guitarbage.

Exactly. He works once a year around Christmas putting together an infomercial. I bet he makes 7 figures and spends the rest of the year lounging around a pool somewhere. More power to him, and even if his guitars suck, they get into the hands of others that probably wouldn't have one otherwise. I bet more then a handful go on to get much better guitars keeping the ball rolling for all of us. Whats the crime?

Those guitars are trash. One came into my local shop for repairs (go figure). To say it was unplayable is an understatement.

I don't think I'd take his place if I was given the chance. Many be damned, those guitars suck! You're better off buying a cheap Chinese made acousticv than one of his. Much better construction, more chance that the player will stick with playing instead of giving up in disgust.

Doesn't matter if he can play. Knowing what the wholesale is on those guitars, and watching the sales counter, he's making some stupid coin, even after he's paid the QVC fees.
