Musician's Friend Strikes Again

Now, I order from these guys all the time, mostly without issue, but this one takes the cake.

I ordered a PP2+ from them, and they send me the EUROPEAN version. I mean, how lazy is that? What on earth are they even stocking that version for? I don't mind mistakes, but seriously, that's just dumb.

Then they tried to get me to pay return shipping because I "wasn't satisfied". Wrong, error on your part. Had to call back to talk to another agent to get a shipping label.

What really sucks is that they are out of stock so the pedalboard will remain unpowered

I used to deal with them a lot until it took them 45 days to get my stuff. If they have to ship to an APO address, they will use 4th Class Mail. I've never even heard of 4th class mail!!! Must have been shipped on an oil tanker or something.

Btw, Analogman has the PP2+ in stock last time I checked. And it only took a week to cross the pond!

the last 4-5 times I bought from them I got an "out of stock, wait time will be" email and I cancelled, ordered from somewhere else...they were pedals, and it says a lot that a small little pedal retailer like tonefactor has items in stock and musicians enemy does not...

I don't know what has happened to the delivery times on these major online sellers either.
I can get a priority mail package from the east coast to Oregon in 3 or 4 days.
I just ordered a pedal from Sweetwater and chose their free shipping option which is Fedex ground.
I couldn't believe it when I got a tracking number and it said estimated delivery 3/12.
I ordered the pedal on 3/1.

I think that in the past UPS and Fedex ground delivery times were 3 to 4 days.....

Well I have used MF a lot and never had an issue with shipping time or getting the wrong stuff - but what I have been noticing that I dont like is how they pack stuff. I just got a VS Open Road pedal from them - the pedal was just thrown into a shipping carton with no packing material whatsoever! It was just banging around loose in the carton - and this was not the first time.

I've had similar experiences with them. The item showed in stock on the website, then I got an email that said out of stock/back-order with an expected date. That date came and went 2 or 3 times before I called to cancel the order, at which point I was told it shipped. It'll have to be an amazing deal for me to use them again. I don't understand why communication is so difficult for some companies.

This made me laugh. As though it's some subjective thing like the amp didn't sound as good as you'd hoped, or the flame on the guitar wasn't as pretty as it looked in the picture. "Sir, I understand your frustration, but 220v is really not THAT different from 110. What if we offer you 10% off your next purchase. Would that address your issue?"

Sorry my friend, that's a bummer.

Thanks brother. Not a big deal, it actually led me to make a more cost beneficial decision!

I can top that one (believe it or not!). I ordered some KRK Rokit 5 monitors. They just threw a shipping label onto the very basic manufacture box. You know, the one if you actually buy it in the store? No packing or anything. I called and complained and sent it back. The CS guy was absolutely amazed the warehouse did that. I don;t think he really believed me until I sent him a picture of the box with the label.

Even the UPS guy commented (sarcastically): "Wow, they must really take pride in their packing."

When did you order? Seems like they have been out of stock since January..
I also had no idea MF could ship Voodoo labs products overseas to begin with so why even have a 220 model in stock....Am I missing something??

That was my question too. My working theory is that they were sent the wrong version from VL and no one bother to check. The only thing different from the US version is a little checkmark on the side of the box.

It would have had to of been on VL's end. That would explain the out off stock.. Return should be as easy as getting an RA number from MF then drop it at the carrier..If it has been less than 45 days..Good luck..Not sure how long this thread will stay up FAQ #5, so keep us posted on the outcome..
