Umm Waiter, 2 waffles please, with some pecans, and one pound of butter and 2 gallons of maple syrup (Aunt Jemima original if you have it), 1 glass of water to wash it down and please notify my doctor and next of kin cuz I'm about to die happy!

I've posted this before, but this thread deserves a retell.
We were at my inlaws a few years ago and my mother in law served waffles one Saturday morning. They were awful. Worst stuff I'd ever eaten.
After breakfast my wife (back in the bedroom) asked me how my waffles were - she thought it was just her. We agreed they were terrible, but neither of us had any idea what her mom had done to them.
Fast forward to Thanksgiving of that same year. Wife and her sister are in the kitchen helping mom get things ready and my mother in law asks my wife to get her the cooking spray. My wife opens the cabinet and says "there's no cooking spray here." My mother in law says "yes, there is - that green can!"
The green can was a can of Pine Air Freshener - and it was empty. All of a sudden, the mystery taste of those waffles made perfect sense....
