Custom Wiring Schematic
Hello, I'm wondering if anyone can help me out here. I recently purchased a Warmoth Jagstang but I need a wiring schematic for it. The guitar will be wired the standard way a jagstang would be wired but with the addition of a kill switch mini-toggle and and a 3-way mini-toggle to activate the 3 different options for a Seymour Duncan P rail that I have in the bridge. I'm hoping to find a schematic for free, i'v been to guitar electronics.com and they charge 65 dollars so if anyone can help me out it'd be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I'm happy to help modify as per your requirements but I don't know what a "standard jagstang" setup is. If you specify what pickups are used and what switches are used in a jagstang then I can work from that.
EDIT: is it like this one here? |

Hmmm, I'm not very familiar with Jagstangs - that wiring diagram indicates that the bridge slide switch is on-off-on, while the neck switch is on (in phase)-off-on (out of phase).
Is that what the switches are meant to do? I'll post a diagram shortly. EDIT: Try this. I think it would be possible to make a better use of that slide switch, but I'm not quite sure what that might be - have to think about it some more. ![]() EDIT2: The schematic link on post #2 seems to indicate that the shield around the slide switch area (must be aluminium or copper tape?) are not connected to the main ground point on the back of the volume pot (which should also go to the bridge). I'm not sure if the schematic is wrong or I'm not reading it right. Last edited by cc9cii; 03-20-2010 at 11:13 PM. |

this may help, is it possible for you to show a full overview of the schematic? One mini toggle i have has six connection points the other has 4. http://www.jag-stang.com/faq/mustang...iring-diagram/ though this seems to suggest you should use a mustang wiring sketch, maby it will make more sense. |

Alternatively you can just buy a toggle switch (I gave you a possible source, see the diagram). With the 6 lug toggle, you have to make sure you've got on/off/on switch, often they are on/on/on and you can't use that for this easily (you can, but have to wire the switch differently). Again, you'll need a multimeter to test what kind of switch you have. I'm not sure what you mean by a full overview? Quote:

Yeah, the two way mini toggle I have is an on-on, I just checked, il probably have to take this to the music store or something to get wired.

I can draw a diagram to suit your switch but first I need to know what switch I'm dealing with. Either you have to give me a part number I can look up on the net or you'll have to describe the switch in detail.

Ok, On Warmoth.com under the guitar parts, switches part number MS1 and MS2 are the ones I have and then I have two of the SS1 switch and for the volume and tone pots I have two 250k pots by CTS can be found under Potentiometers on Warmoth, part code is CTS250. Then it's just the P rail and a Lindy Fralin single coil.Thank you so much for your help with this.

Try this.
EDIT: MS1 pic on Warmoth site shows 6 lugs not 4? Anyway, if you only have 4 lugs, try soldering the two wires on one side only, similar to the diagram below.
