American Idol's test to prove you've totally sold your soul to Simon.

They have opened the show with Wham's Wake Me Up (before you go go).

I'm surprised a few of them didn't hurl and bolt off the stage. :-)

I guess Simon figures if he can get you to sing that song, he owns you. Like getting turned out in prison.

Why do you think Simon chose the song? Or do you mean Simon Fuller?

I just assumed it was Cowell that owned the record label and the AI contract. Turns out I was way off base. No wonder Cowell wants to move from AI to X Factor, etc.
