Question The Perfect amp Poll!

OK Ive been doing a lot of observing and it seems like guitarists (including myself) cling to their instruments and are perfectly fine with experimenting with pedals and amps. So!

If you were to design an amp, what would you do with it?

Would you make it PTP Handwired and single channel like a vintage?

Would you put built in effects? The sky is the limit and cost doen't matter.

Point-to-Point, all-tube signal path with tube rectifier option, chassis-mounted tube sockets, high quality transformers, switchable power tube options, variable wattage (1 watt to 100 watts), at least three footswitchable channels, variable solo boost, an FX loop that doesn't rob tone, able to get convincing Tweed, Blackface, Plexi, JCM800, Mark IIC+, Dual Rectifier tones in any of the channels.

Oh, and it would be the size of a lunchbox and weigh less than 30 pounds (1x12 combo option available of course).

Sign me up when I can place my order.

I would built a two-channel amp: a warm channel with octal preamp tubes and a bright channel with 12AX7s. I'd use two 6AQ5 power tubes and the original Magnatone/Hammond reverb circuit. Feed this into a single 12" speaker, probably a Jensen P12R.

My perfect amp would be all tube, single channel 2x12 combo with a versatile boost. 30-40 watts, excellent master volume that can be easily bypassed from the circuit. Marshall flavor, medium gain, plexi-style voice with a fat Vox-style clean. Probably two EL34s, plate voltage around 350v. No effects.

Carbon comp resistors in the tone affecting positions, metal film in the others. Soho vintage-style caps. Filtering probably around 68-69 Plexi. Possibly a switchable rectifier, and a variable negative feedback. Maybe a bright switch.

Combination turret board / ptp construction. Pine cab, probably a V30 / G12H30 speaker combination.

The goal is tones between Cream era-Clapton / Jimmy Page / Allman Bros. / old ZZTop / AC-DC. If I could manage Van Halen, that would be good too.

Heck, there are probably a million of these type amps around! I'm just too lazy to find them all and try them out, so I'm probably going to end up building one myself.

2 channel 30-40 watt combo, 1x12, and a 2x12 extension cab...clean channel/dirt channel, seperate 3-band minimum eq for each...effect loop...footswitch for channel select and reverb

must have a great clean tone as I use pedals...

I'm no amp builder. But I think mine would be something like this: A Marshall 2204 50 watt master volume type with two GE 6550 power tubes. And four 12AX7 preamp tubes for a little more gain. And a solid state rectifier. It could be a half or a full stack. It would either be a point-to-point or a printed circuit board design. Depending on whichever sounded the best, and or was the most reliable.

Multi-channel with separate tone stacks, combo, 50+ watts for me. I also have a side order of series/parallel tube buffered effects loop and spring reverb please.

Well this has turned out a useful poll hasn't it dusty

They already made the perfect amp - it's called a Mesa Mark V

Almost... If it had dedicated loops for each channel, it would be even better for me. That's okay, I have worked around this!
