'62 Reissue Stratocaster Owners - Need Your Reviews!

The Strat in question has been hanging around in a friend of mine's store for some time and he has offered it to me at a ridiculously low price.
I was just wondering if anyone has had any problems with them (should I go get it or not?)

I've had one for years. It's been my #1. No problems at all. The neck is a little too skinny for my tastes these days, but I'll never part with it!

It's my #1 guitar. I just changed the pickups to Dimarzio Area's and everything else is completely stock. It's perfect for me. My only complaint is that bends are a little trickier but I got used to it pretty quickly.

Get it. It's got great tone, great feel and it looks great.

I have a 62 thin skin. When I try out other strats in the store they come up short. Mine turned out to be my favorite strat. Light weight and sounds great. Medium size neck. I really like the 57/62's in the 2 and 4 positions. Only thing I dont like is the sound of the bridge pickup by its self, too whimpy.

Love my AV62RI. Bone stock except for installation of the 5 way switch. 7.25 neck works fine for me.
I'd say go with it-- these are in my opinion the best non-CS Strats.

Ive got an old '89 japanese 62 RI and it's my number 1 and has been for 17 years...
Just recently put a set of CS 69's in her and it just breathed new life into her..
I'd say go for it man, lots of love round here for the 62 =)
(Easy to pass on also if you don't bond)

I had the Hot Rod version of the 62 AVRI. I have to say this was the best Strat I had ever played. I replaced the pickups with Fralins, but the feel of the neck, the body, and how it resonates... It was a good strat!

My Dad has an '88 AVRI 62. Probably one of the best guitars I will ever hold.

I compare all guitars to it in workmanship, tone, and feel.

I have a Japanese 62 (even though not officially a reissue!!). Neck is definitely not skinny! Great guitars and they play great even with the vintage neck radius and little frets!

Here's my 2003 model. Great guitar stock, though I did recently change to a set of BG Pups for a little something different. I wouldn't hesitate and especially for an oustanding deal.

My american RI 62 strat was my #1 till it got stolen when I bought it here at american music seattle I was deciding between a 69 custom shop relic strat or the 62 RI and it took about 2 minutes to buy the 62...I play classic rock, country, and some blues and that strat had the most beautiful bell tones with a slim fast neck and it resonated better then my 2000 american dlx ash strat...And that 62 stayed in tune!...I miss it so much! it was the "one" that you look for your whole life!....

I've got a '94. Sounds fantastic, but I never could get used to that skinny 7.25" neck.

Finally, I replaced it with a SRV neck (fattest Fender makes, 12" radius,) and refretted in with medium jumbos. It's the perfect Strat for me now and I'll never sell it.

I have an '06 in sunburst. My favorite strat for sure. I replaced the pickups with Duncan SSL-1s though. Love the neck and middle but may switch out the bridge for an SSL-5. These SSL-1s are pretty bright and with this being a fairly dark sounding guitar, its like a match made in heaven.
