Help me select speakers

Guitars: Les Paul R9, Stat Am std
Amp: Marshall 2555 Silver Jub
Desired tone (strat): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yQEnH...eature=related
Desired tone (LP): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MGLB6R8EWsE

Basically in the strat clips greenbacks are being used. In the LP clip ev12l's are being used. I can't use greenbacks, but I know Evs are awesome but I have not heard them with a strat...

Speakers I have tried and disliked are v30 and g12t-75s. There are so many speakers out there it's hard to choose. Will be used in a 2x12 so atleast 50w each. With Evs I could run two amps in the 2x12. I'm not a fan of fuzzy speakers, not a huge fan of speaker breakup. I want clarity, smoothness and oomph. The tone I'm going for is kinda like Eric Johnsons but less treble rollof. Think EVs would work? Thanks

Yup, EVs will do it! Strats (at least mine) sound fine thru EVs. Your guitars will still sound like themselves, only more so. I also have to say that my WGS et-65s can achieve these tones.

Are you worried about blowing up the greenies? I would recomend the CL80's. Warm and smooth like greenbacks, similar breakup, and very musical.
