GSP1101 USB Driver For Recording?

Is anyone having success recording to a computer using the USB driver on the 1101? Any tips or advice?

use those drivers for your operating system type. i think those better for most of recording drivers for asio.

check digi's web support for drivers of your operating system?

I tried using the GSP1101 usb audio at the same time as a Presonus Firepod (firewire connection) in Cakewalk SONAR. The GSP became the only available audio device in SONAR making the Presonus audio inputs/outputs "disappear". I couldn't use them simultaneously so I uninstalled the GSP audio drivers and record using its audio outputs. If you want to use your GSP as your sole audio device, then it should be do-able but I never explored that option after the above experience because my Presonous is my main sound device/soundcard.

The same thing happened when I tried the GSP driver, it made my other inputs disappear. I thought it might be something I was doing wrong.

Yes... Ive used it just fine with Sonar. I do have the same issue as the GSP takes over the inputs and outputs. The I/O for the soundcard disappears.

I have found though that its not even an issue really as there are a few ways to work the GSP in along with your other card or not as has been described already.

Generally though now once the GSP is hooked into the USB then I just use that as the interface until I need vocals.

I just UNPLUG the GSP's USB and then open Sonar. It tells me there are no current audio drivers. Just say OK to that and Sonar opens. Go to the Audio|Options and choose your card. If its a newer version of Sonar there is no restart of Sonar because Sonar lets you hot swap devices.

So I use the soundcard to get the vocals and once vocals are done I replug the GSP.

Of course you shouldnt have to do that swap much if you're doing guitrs or bass one day you just leave the GSP going. Vox the next day? Do the swap.

I could also just hook the GSP's 1/4" out to the line ins on the soundcard and monitor through the soundcard instead of the GSP.

Either way works is what I have found. Hope this helps.

I have been using the XLR output plugged into the sound card and that seems to work the best for me.
